ECM Releases NH Poll and Ad

Today, the Every Child Matters Education Fund (ECMEF) released results of a poll taken of Granite Staters likely to vote in the presidential election of 2012. A national children’s advocacy organization with a field office in New Hampshire, ECMEF commissioned the firm of Mason-Dixon Polling and Research to gauge New Hampshire residents’ opinions about issues facing children and families.

ECMEF New Hampshire Director MaryLou Beaver revealed the results at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Child Care Center on the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center campus. The live event was followed by a phone-in press conference where Ms. Beaver was joined by ECMEF President Michael Petit and Director of Polling and Research Steve Clermont.

According to Mr. Petit, “This poll shows that NH voters of all persuasions are concerned about the well-being of children, do not know where the GOP presidential candidates stand on children’s issues, want them to talk more about children, don’t want cuts in children’s services, and by large margins support an increase in taxes to protect children’s programs. We hope the candidates are paying attention to how seriously NH voters view this issue and will begin to discuss it in their debates and policy statements.” The entirety of the press release is available here.
