BudgetThis Month’s Awareness:  The Importance of Early Learning Experiences

They say with age comes wisdom, but did you know that about 90% of a child’s brain development occurs before age five? Babies are born learning. That’s why the early years are so important. You can make the most of those years– by learning how to make the most of everyday moments.  Click here to read more from the Early Years Institute.

What’s going on Nationally: Funding for crucial kids programs has decreased or remained limited, therefore serving only 1 in 20 of those children eligible.

What’s going on Statewide: Recently advocates presented a bill to make kindergarten mandatory in New York.  That bill was passed and has been made law!!

What you can do Locally:  Those that are concerned about kids issues along with smart and proven investments in kids are unifying with important messages aimed at our Presidential candidates.  To join them click here.
