Prevent Lead Poisoning

Please call your State Representatives and ask them to vote YES on SB 247 – Preventing Childhood Lead Poisoning – on Thursday.

Here’s what to say:

NH’s screening rates are far too low, meaning that many kids with lead poisoning are falling through the cracks and not receiving the protections they need. SB 247 will help protect kids throughout New Hampshire by increasing the number of children who are screened. The best way to address lead poisoning is to prevent it from happening in the first place. SB 247 establishes a public fund to help address lead hazards from lead-based paint and from drinking water. Please vote yes on the 19-1 Health & Human Services Committee recommendation and send the bill on to House Finance.
